Minutes for Music Boosters Meeting

Treasurer’s  Report: The budget was presented by Yvonne Spencer. Several anticipated expenditures, including corsages for senior night, were presented and approved. The budget was approved as presented.

Class Reports:

Chorus - Mrs. Barry was given a $40 check which was needed for an ensemble to perform.

Band - Band and chorus students were given a sheet regarding concert apparel. (This sheet is also available on ed-line.) Students are to bring these sheets to school, indicating their preference in:

               a – purchasing their concert attire
               b – borrowing from the school
               c – trading -in attire for a different size

All students who borrow need to pay $5 to cover cleaning costs at the end of year.

Eighth Grade band night will be October 15. With the extra students, there will be one-hundred, ninety-two students participating in the pre-game and half-time performance. Two extra water containers for providing water to the students in the stands will be borrowed from the Boy Scouts, and will be brought by Garrett Smith to the game.

Bandstand: The bandstand is running smoothly and hopes to have a record-making selling season with the good weather we have had this fall, and the possible championship games.

Fundraisers: The selling phase of the first fundraiser of the year has ended. Susan Nabors will be sending in the orders next week. Candle deliveries will be before Thanksgiving. Volunteers will be needed to help with candle distribution.

Several options for future fundraisers were distributed by Debbie Manfredi for future consideration. It was decided that a Play-a-thon would be a good fundraiser for late January or early February. Charlie will check with Music Café about the availability of the café as the location for the fundraiser. The fundraiser will run from 12:00 noon to 12:00 noon of the following day. Students will sign-up for playing in fifteen minute intervals. A date for an invitational band show for next September has yet to be determined.
